Setting Up Your Server

Without fussing around, we'll get right to it. Let's set up your server.

To Set up Your cPanel Server

  1. Log in to your Account Manager.
  2. Click Servers.
  3. Next to the account you want to use, click Launch.
  4. In the section for the account you want to use, click Set Up.
  5. Complete the following fields, and then click Create:
    Field What to do...
Server name Enter a name to refer to your server by.
User name Enter a user name to log in to your server.
Password & Confirm Password Enter a password to log in to the server.
Data Center Region Select the location where you want to create your server.
Image Select the operating system you want to use.

NOTE: Do not select Fedora if you want to use cPanel (which this guide assumes you do).
    Control Panel Select cPanel.
Import your sites Select any cPanel shared hosting accounts you want to import (more info).

Once you've got this done, your server takes a few minutes to set up. You can either wait on this screen and refresh it in a few minutes, or return here by logging in to our Gateway. (If you have a lot of accounts, you can go to the Server tab at the top to find your VPS.)

After it's set up, click its name or Manage to access the management interface. You can find a ton of useful information here, including your CPU usage and server IP address, as well perform basic tasks like rebooting your server.

After you've glanced around, we're ready to move on to the next step....
